When a devil fruit user dies, the devil fruit changes a random normal fruit in the world into itself, Doffy is like the biggest underground guy so in 2 years he prob got his hands on it through connections.

- It seemed suggested that Blackbeard taking two devil fruits was due to his physiology - not the power of the Dark Dark fruit

So, what if Blackbeard actually just hid an ordinary fruit in his jacket, and because devil fruits spawn on the closest fruit, when Whitebeard died the closest fruit was right next to his body. Then Blackbeard ate that immediately. Because of the curtain, everyone assumes it was his devil fruit power.

-I think the BB Pirates put up the black curtain because they want to put up a "show" that will shock the world—as they said. And also, to conceal their trick just like a magician would.

That Flamingo guy brought a plant during the fight and when a devil fruit eater dies, it reproduces itself to the nearest plant/shrub! The Flare Flare fruit probably reproduced itself after Ace died in that plant!
